Ha, ha, Denis. I hear you loud and clear. Talk about timing! I just received Maund’s fender eliminator in the post today. This one: http://www.maundspeed.com/#!product/prd1/974048634/fender-eliminator-thruxton-bonneville-scrambler I bought the no-frills version. I’m going to wire it myself and I’m not sure yet how I want to replace the indicators. I’m going to create a pair of “ears” from a sheet of ABS and temporarily mount the rear indicators to the shock mounts while I decide. I plan on installing the Maund kit this weekend (along with some TEC shocks) so I’ll have a blog post about it in a couple weeks.
Those exhaust fins are definitely cool.
Thanks for the comment! Got a picture of your bike? Love to see it.
Cheers. Rudy
Hey Rudy- I’m on the road but i will get a picture over to you from my phone…let me know what you do on the TEC shocks as I am thinking of doing same for Tess, my lovely Thruxton- I need the 360mm length to keep the stock ride height- from where did you source the shocks?
Hey Denis. I ordered the Thruxton version of the TEC gas reservoir shocks from the US distributor. I’m 6’2″ and want to give the Bonneville some extra rear height. TEC assured me that they would work just fine. Del (Delboy’s Garage) loves them, so I’m following his advice. I was looking at Ohlins but 5x the price steered me clear of those – not sure that I would reap 5x the advantage. UPS is delivering the TEC’s this Friday. They’ll be my Saturday early morning project. I can’t wait.
Bike is looking good- well done- got to shit can those turn indicators and the tail light- went with this kit from Jim Maund:

And his exhaust fins- these are awesome:
