As you know, one of my first reviews many moons ago was where I swapped the stock pipes for the TEC 2-1 pipes. This past weekend, I finally picked up a good pair of circlip pliers and got around to removing the baffle in the interest of hearing what it would sound like, and I likes. Much deeper, throatier, and definitely louder. It makes me feel manly.
In order to run best without the baffle, it’s necessary (many say) to remap. I’ve loaded up TuneECU on my work computer (why is there not a Mac version?) and ordered a dongle to interface with the bike. In the mean time, I’m looking through the .hex files for the proper tune (#20499, I think). Stay tuned, stayECUtuned (pardon the pun). More to come. Until then, take a listen to the following video and have a chuckle when the baffle pipe unexpectedly blows out of the pipe and clangs onto the sidewalk.
Definitely sounds beefier without the baffle. However if i get this pipe Ill prob leave it in because that sounds pretty good too.

Question on these pipes. I’m a new yorker too and I see the muffler has rust on it already. It’s been less than a year right? Do you keep it outside through winter as I will have to?
Actually, it’s not rust. It’s grime. I need to clean them better.
So I take it your still happy with the quality of the tec pipes? I want to get the 2:1 with the tracker short can.

Been searching for baffle removal on the tec USA exhausts. I purchased a set of the 2 in 2 for my Thruxton Ace and got them ceramic coated flat black. I plan to do the arrow remap and remove the baffles, in the mean time I wanted to take the baffle out to get a quick idea of the sound. The right side came out no problem however I been trying to pull the left side out going on 4 days now. I’ve totally warped the baffle head from grabbing and pulling but I don’t really care since im looking to remove them. Did you have any issues pulling the baffle out? I’m pulling and turning so hard I move my bike and it’s not budging. I thought of some WD-40 but there isn’t enough space to get any lubricant on the baffle. I emailed customer service and they said to keep pullin and turning but I’m at a loss now. I been yanking in this think so much my arms are killing me. Any suggestions? It would be greatly appreciated
