Not sure if this counts as a mod. Technically speaking, I guess it does. When I installed the Joker Machine bar end mirrors (see mod here), I removed the stock Triumph mirrors.
This left two holes in the clutch and brake control assemblies. Visually, not *terribly* noticeable but after a while trace amounts of rust began to appear.
I decided that I better plug the holes. I ordered a pair of the Joker Machine Mirror Hole Plugs which ended up doing the deed quite well.
They are fully CNC machined from 6061-T6 Billet aluminum, then hard black anodized. Mounting hardware, consisting of two washers and 2mm hex socket bolts, was included.
Installation was a breeze, however the fit was quite snug. I smeared the plugs with some white titanium grease which helped both with installing them and with water repellency.
As said, the fit was quite snug (which you want) so they had to be tamped in. Make sure to place a towel over them and then lightly tap them in (or use a small rubber mallet). You won’t have to hit very hard at all. Once flush to the surface of the lever, smear a little blue Loctite onto the bolt thread, screw in the washer and bolt from underneath and tighten with a 2mm Allen key. Super easy.
They look great, it’s as if the holes were never there. Better yet, these will help keep the rust at bay.
